Hawthorne Center

Hawthorne Center for Innovation supports the forming and developing of ideas that will revolutionize the future, while inviting individuals of all skill levels to get involved in the research and development process. The Center fosters development, on the time scale of “as long as it takes,” of bleeding-edge ideas that have failed to find support.

Blender is an open source 3-D object creation application with capabilities similar to proprietary products such as 3D Studio Max or Maya. Adult and teen volunteers from the Hawthorne Center for Innovation will demonstrate how to get up and running with Blender. They will show their portfolios of work developed in Blender and will demonstrate Blender basics; introducing the Blender Interface / Windowing System, the hot keys, and other shortcuts and tips for modeling with meshes, and how to add color, texture, and do lighting, animation, and rendering.
